Ingredients

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup light brown sugar packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips can use regular semi sweet chocolate chips if you prefer, the mini make so there are more chocolate chips in the chunks.

Instructions

  • Place the flour in a microwave safe bowl and heat on high in 30 second intervals, stirring between each interval. Continue heating until flour reads 165°F on an instant read thermometer. This will take about 45 seconds to 1 minute.
  • In the bowl of an electric mixer (Fitted with paddle attachment) cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the vanilla, cream, and salt. Beat until combined. Scrape down the sides of the bowl. Add the heated flour and mix to combine.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • You can keep the dough as is and munch on it, just store it in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week.

How to Make Into Cookie Dough Bites

  • Roll the cookie dough into 2-3 ropes about ½” inch thick. Place the rope(s) on a parchment lined baking sheet and place the cookie dough in the freezer. Once cold remove from the freezer and cut the rope into bite sized pieces, about ½” inch chunks. Store in a freezer safe bag or container for up to 3 months. These are so yummy to snack on! Stir them into homemade ice cream or use as an ice cream topping.
