This blue raspberry lemonade is bold in both color and flavor! You can taste the distint lemonade and blue raspberry flavors. Alex could not stop drinking this and my 6 year old said this recipe deserves "10 thumbs up!!"
Place water and sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer, stir frequently until the sugar completely dissolves. Remove from heat. (This step doesn't take too long, maybe 4-5 minutes is all).
Make the Blue Raspberry Lemonade
Juice the lemons.
Combine the lemon juice and simple syrup in a small pitcher. Add the cold water and flavored syrup and ice. Stir to combine. Taste and adjust amount of water added if needed.
Pour into serving glasses. Garnish with fresh mint if desired. Enjoy cold.
Notes
Lemon Juice: Freshly squeezed lemon juice is preferred, however if you're in a pinch you can use pre-made lemonade and just add the blue raspberry flavored syrup to the lemonade (forgoing the simple syrup, since the lemonade will already be sweetened). Cold water: When adding the cold water to the fresh lemon juice, I start by adding just 1 cup of water and working my way up to 1/2 cup. I like my lemonade to have a very profound lemonade taste, but others may prefer something less strong. Blue Raspberry flavored syrup: I used Torani brand, which you can buy off Amazon here. Recipe yields about 4 cups, lingering on the side of 5 cups depending on how much water and ice you add. Nutritional information is an estimate and based on 1 serving.
