Instructions
Place the popped popcorn in a large bowl.
In a microwave safe bowl melt the white chocolate disks at half power, stirring every 30 seconds. Continue until fully melted.
Pour the white chocolate over the popcorn kernels and toss to coat. Work quickly because the candy melts or chocolate can set quickly. You want to add the Oreo crumbs and salt before it sets!
Sprinkle the Oreo crumbs and kosher salt over the popcorn and toss until the popcorn is evenly covered.
Optional and if using white chocolate chips (which often times takes a tad longer to set): Spread the popcorn onto a wax paper lined baking sheet. Let set for 10 mins or so
Enjoy! Store in airtight container for 4 days.
Notes
If using white chocolate chips, add 2 tsp of shortening to the white chips before melting in the microwave. I've found that white chocolate chips are a bit more finicky to melt, but when I add the shortening I never have issues with seizing. Store in airtight container for 4 days.To freeze, store the popcorn in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 3 months. The popcorn won’t really freeze per se; it simply helps the popcorn stay fresher longer. Let the popcorn come to room temperature or you can enjoy it cold.
