6ozalmond barkor white candy melts, or white chocolate
4ozgreen candy melts
rainbow nonpareils
gold star sprinkles
brown jimmy sprinklesoptional (I wasn't planning on using them but had them on hand. I used them for the tree stem).
Instructions
Line a baking sheet with wax paper or parchment paper.
Melt the white chocolate in a microwave safe bowl until smooth.
Dip each Oreo into the white chocolate, covering only 1/3 to half of the Oreo. Place each dipped Oreo on the wax paper lined baking sheet. Let sit for 20 minutes or until the white chocolate has fully set/hardened.
Melt the green candy melts in a microwave safe bowl until smooth. Transfer to a ziplock bag with a tiny bit of the corner snipped off or use a piping bag with a size 1 or 2 piping tip. Pipe a Christmas tree on one Oreo at a time. Sprinkle a few nonpareils over the tree (looks like ornaments) and add a golden star sprinkle to the top. You want to add the sprinkles and decorations before the tree lines set. You might be able to do 1-2 Christmas trees before having to stop and add the sprinkles. Just depends on how slow/fast you work 😉
Let Oreos sit out to set for 10-15 minutes before storing or packaging up as gifts. Enjoy!
Notes
Once set, store in an airtight container or cookie tin at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.Don't freeze to speed up the setting process as this can cause cracking and sweating of the chocolate.
