Why This Recipe Works

  • Made with just a few basic and simple ingredients, this banana peach smoothie recipe gives us all the best flavors in every sip.
  • Unlike some other smoothie recipes, this one doesn’t use ice. This means that you don’t have to worry about your drink becoming watered down as you slowly sip away in bliss.
  • You can use fresh or frozen fruit depending on what you have on hand but using frozen ones will give you an even thicker smoothie- yum!
  • This peach banana smoothie is versatile and can be made to accommodate dairy-free lifestyles. Tips for doing this are included on the recipe card below.

Ingredients

Ingredients used to make a banana peach smoothie on a gray background.
  • Peaches: Frozen peaches can be found in grocery stores but you can use fresh peaches if you have them on hand, just see the notes in the recipe card for how to do this.
  • Bananas: Using frozen ripe bananas will add thickness and sweetness to every sip. Slice your ripe bananas and place them in a Ziploc bag overnight so that they’re ready to use the next day.
  • Yogurt: I use plain Greek yogurt but you can use honey flavored and omit the requested honey. You can also use flavored yogurts like vanilla or peach for a stronger sweetness and flavor.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. In a high-powered blender, add all of the ingredients.

Recipe Tips

When adding ingredients to the blender, it may help to have the milk at the base and to add in the larger ingredients after. This will help the blender to mix everything up more easily because the milk will help to keep everything moving around the blades more freely.

Using a rubber scraper tool can help to move the ingredients around if you find them sticking to the sides of the blender and not getting pulverized as they should. Just open the lid, scrape down the sides, place the lid back on and continue blending until smooth.

For more of a tropical flavor, you can substitute the milk for orange juice and help to bring in some more vitamins to the drink as well.

Dairy Free: To make this a dairy free smoothie use a nondairy yogurt and dairy free milk. Some dairy free milk options include almond milk, soy milk, oat milk, coconut milk, rice milk, cashew milk etc.

FAQs

Do I have to peel fresh peaches?

If you want to use fresh peaches instead of frozen, then you can choose to leave the peel on or off. The mixture will be well blended so you may not even notice the peels at all. In fact, there’s a lot of nutritious value in the peels so it may be worth trying. Just make sure to wash them well before using them.

What does banana smoothie do to the body?

Bananas are rich in many different complex carbs and potassium which makes them perfect for helping to avoid muscle cramps. This fruity smoothie recipe can be a perfect pre or post-workout drink to help fuel your body with the nutrients needed.

How long can smoothies last in the refrigerator?

While you leave a premade smoothie in the fridge for about a day but as it sits and chills, the ingredients will separate. To fix this simply stir it up well before drinking. That said, smoothies are often best enjoyed when freshly made as that’s when the flavors and textures are best.

Banana Peach Smoothie

A thick and creamy banana peach smoothie you can make with fresh or frozen peaches! This recipe has yogurt in it to help achieve that rich and thick texture everyone loves.
Prep Time: 2 minutes
Cook Time: 0 minutes
Blend Time: 1 minute
Total Time: 3 minutes
Servings: 1 serving

Ingredients

  • 2 cups peaches - frozen (about 9 oz) see notes
  • 1 banana - frozen
  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt - see notes
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/3 cup milk

Instructions

  • Add the peaches, banana, Greek yogurt, honey, and milk to a high powered blender.
  • Blend until smooth.

Notes

Peaches: Can use fresh peaches if you don’t want to use frozen (or if peaches are in season). If using fresh peaches reduce the honey to 1 tablespoon (fresh tend to be sweeter than frozen peaches) and don’t add the milk. Fresh peaches will provide natural juices and liquid. If you start blending it and notice it needs liquid, add a splash of milk until you reach your desired consistency.
Yogurt: I used Greek plain yogurt. You can use flavored such as vanilla or peach! If using a flavored yogurt, reduce the amount of honey (or eliminate it all together) since the yogurt will be sweetened.
Milk: Can use dairy or a nondairy milk.
Dairy Free: To make this a dairy free smoothie use a nondairy yogurt and dairy free milk. Some dairy free milk options include: almond milk, soy milk, oat milk, coconut milk, rice milk, cashew milk etc.
