Why This Recipe Works
- A microwave s’more is the way to go if you are looking for a quick treat.
- You don’t have to have s’mores just when the weather is good outside and conducive to an outdoor campfire. You can make indoor s’mores in the microwave!
- You can enjoy this delicious summer treat any time of the year and without the mess or smell of the campfire.
Ingredients

Step-by-Step Instructions
- Place a graham cracker on a microwave-safe plate. Top with a chocolate bar.
- Place the large marshmallow on top of the chocolate.

- Put the s’mores in the microwave for 15-20 seconds or until the marshmallow is puffed up and doubled in size.

- Remove from microwave and cover with the other graham cracker square. Enjoy!

Recipe Tips
Cooking times will vary depending on your microwave.
If you don’t want your chocolate melted, don’t put it in the microwave. You can add the chocolate after heating the mallow.
If you want a meltier chocolate: Place the chocolate on a graham cracker square and microwave for 7-10 seconds. THEN add the mallow and microwave until puffed up. Top with the other graham cracker square and enjoy!
Be sure to use a microwave-safe plate.
You can do multiple microwave s’mores at a time, it just might take a bit longer than the 15 seconds to get each of the marshmallows puffy. If your microwave doesn’t have a turntable inside (a plate that turns while the microwave is on) then you’ll want to stop in the middle of the time and flip the plate.
These are best eaten fresh.
FAQs
Yes! Microwaved marshmallows get puffy, soft and gooey — so delicious! If you leave them in the microwave for too long they’ll start melting and can sometimes explode. So stick to the time in the recipe.
Just 15-20 seconds or until the marshmallow puffs up a bit.
